About the Event

New Women Connectors (NWC) is an open platform that strives to connect newcomers and migrants, link migration policies debates and seeks to amplify the voices of those who often feel voiceless in these debates. Envisioned, created, and led by migrant & refugee women, we focus on ensuring all voices are heard and responded to so that migrants and refugees can have access to meaningful participation. We believe exchange, dialogue and listening to one another can be facilitated.

The voices of refugee and migrant women draw minimal attention in policymaking debates. The platform offering spaces for highlighting the concerns, needs and challenges of refugee and migrant women have further receded by the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, it also opens up possibilities to re-evaluate our priorities as a society. For us – feminist activists and allies – it is an opportunity to re-envision and contribute towards social justice for all.

Solidarity and collaboration form the core essence of New Women Connectors. We invite you to join in a step further and share the space to imagine and build together 'The New Normal' during and post COVID-19.

Coping2Gather offers a space to reach out to refugee and migrant women during COVID-19 times. It aims to compile information on coping strategies, resilience and needs of refugee and migrant women through self-representation.

NWC further aims to facilitate zooming in to ways to expand the EU in solidarity with migrants and refugees during these challenging times of COVID-19.
