Migration is not a crime, and not a problem to be solved. It is a human reality shaped by courage, resilience, and hope. It is part of who we are, part of our stories.
Last year, in partnership with BAK Basecamp, we worked on a storytelling project - Storytelling Basecamp- with a group of brilliant individuals with lived experiences of migration. They wanted to challenge the status quo and reclaim ownership and power over their own stories and journeys.
Together, we wanted to shift the conversation and reclaim the narrative around migration.
Storytelling for Solidarity was the culmination of months of hard work: thinking, writing, practicing, and shaping their stories. In the process, they also became a team, who supported each other through everything.
On this beautiful evening, we came together to listen to stories that are often unheard. We came together to show solidarity and to say no to hate, fearmongering and hurtful, dangerous narratives around migration.
This is not the end, but rather the beginning of something 🪄
