We ensure that personal data is only accessible to employees who are authorized to access it in accordance with their job responsibilities, and that we only use the personal data for the purposes for which it was collected - i.e., for compatible purposes.

Data collection via the internet

By signing up for one of our email newsletters, registering as a donor, making a donation, participating in an online event, or taking part in an online campaign, you may be providing personal data that NWC collects through our website.

Data collection outside the internet

NWC also collects personal data when you fill in an application form at events, during a video call or in other ways. 

Data processed by New women connectors

At NWC, we process the following personal data to provide information about our work and campaigns: name, place of residence, telephone number, email address, gender, contact status, and contact history. For specific programs/activities, we might request information about nationality and/or place of birth do ensure diversity of origin in our selection. In addition, for our donor records system and fundraising programs, we may process bank account numbers and payment history.

 

We may occasionally collaborate with external parties and in such cases, we may share your name and email address. However, we take your privacy seriously and always ensure that any third parties we work with have adequate privacy and security measures in place.

Where is your data stored?

At NWC, we fully own the hosting, database, and maintenance of our website. As a result, our personnel have access to your data as part of their work. However, we take the privacy and security of your personal data seriously and always ensure that adequate safeguards are in place to protect it.

Email

If you have provided NWC with your email address as a participant in a campaign, donor, or information requested, we may use it to inform you via email about other activities related to it. 

 

Certain processing activities, e.g., subscriptions to newsletters, can only be carried out with your explicit consent. These processing activities will be subject to a specific consent form. You can opt out of the newsletter emails anytime by clicking on the unsubscribe link in each message. You can opt out of any email by contacting our Communications team at communication@newwomenconnectors.com.

Subscribing and unsubscribing to digital newsletters

Our website, www.newwomenconnectors.com, offers several options to subscribe to digital newsletters from NWC. To subscribe, you must provide your email address. If you wish to receive fewer or no emails, each message includes an unsubscribe link that allows you to easily unsubscribe from the email subscription at any time.

Contact with donors

If you register as a donor with NWC, we will record the personal data you provide in our donor records system. We use this system to inform our donors about our campaigns via our newsletter or by email. As a foundation, NWC is dependent on donations from private individuals, governments, and institutional donors to sustain our work. 

 

In addition to donor information, our records system also contains personal details of our contacts. A contact is someone who is known to NWC, for instance, because they have taken part in a campaign, subscribed to a newsletter, or requested information, but is not a donor.

Changing, viewing or deleting data

Please note that for security reasons, we may need to request proof of your identity before allowing access to personal information we hold about you. Additionally, some data cannot be deleted immediately by NWC, such as financial data due to the tax retention obligation of seven years. We will inform you of any such limitations and work with you to find a satisfactory solution.

How long do we keep your data?

We at NWC ensure that we do not retain your personal data longer than necessary. However, certain data may be kept for a certain period due to financial or legal obligations. Our objective is to securely dispose of personal data as soon as they are no longer needed to fulfill our goals.

Access to all data, including sensitive payment details, is limited to authorized personnel who require it to perform specific tasks.
