'Together We Lead,
Together We Nurture-
Our Earth, Our Europe,
Our Future'

JOin us: our last co-fe tables session

Our Co-Fe Tables Talk series is one of our earliest climate justice initiatives, focusing on highlighting the perspectives of feminist leaders from climate change-affected regions. These experiences are often missing, disregarded or marginalized when it comes to climate change decisions and discussions.

We won't stop trying to change the status quo.

We know that there is an ever-increasing need for these perspectives.

As part of our project "Together We Lead, Together We Nurture - Our Earth, Our Europe, Our Future" we have held four crucial, impactful discussions on various climate justice topics, always through a feminist, intersectional lens.

On the 8th of June, we will have our final session.

At NWC, we find it crucial to create opportunities for participation and co-creation: for this upcoming session, we collaborate with Sandreen Youssef, social activist and migration policy advocate, on the topic of Climate Displacement. Sandreen will lead this session, together with NWC.

Find out more on

  • how climate change and displacement impact vulnerable communities across fragile and conflict-affected contexts,

  • the connection to migration, mental health, economic vulnerability, gender inequality, and human security

Exploring how youth leadership, communication, storytelling, AI, policy dialogue, labour mobility, and community-based approaches can contribute to more inclusive, human-centred, and sustainable climate justice solutions at both local and global levels.

This session will bring together experts and practitioners working across climate action, displacement, policy, communication, and innovation to explore how environmental challenges are transforming lives and communities—and what inclusive, forward-looking responses can look like.

Curious what a Co-Fe Tables Talk is like? Have a look at the recording of our last session on our YouTube channel, on Indigenous Climate Care Methods, co-organized by Ecologie Universelle

Some of the key takeaways from this session include:

  • Indigenous knowledge systems are built on systems concretely opposite to extractivism and transactional exchanges

  • Yet at the same time, when data is collected, communities almost never know where their knowledge is going

  • Land and environment are identity, not a commodity

  • Women-led organizations are seen as liabilities when it comes to climate financing

  • Even though it is proven that when women benefit, communities benefit

  • What is happening in this climate, is going to affect indigenous people disproportionately

Meaning that we should work on bringing indigenous methods/principles into every part of our lives.

save the date: our climate justice knowledge hub

Berlin, September 21, 2026

As the culmination of our project, we are hosting Climate Justice Knowledge Hub on the 21st of September, at the Berlin Global Village.

This event will feature parallel workshops from our partners, policy roundtables, a solidarity circle, networking and coalition-building sessions. Together, we will work on collaborative solution-finding across movements, and co-creating creative spaces featuring community contributions.

Climate change disproportionately impacts women, migrants, and marginalised communities, yet these groups remain underrepresented in climate decision-making spaces. Together with like-minded organisations, individuals, and movements, New Women Connectors strives to create a space where we can come together, creating a shared, intersectional space for advocacy, learning, and coalition-building.

This event is a part of the NWC project “Together we Lead, Together we Nurture, Our Earth, Our Europe, our Future” in collaboration with Climate Action Network Europe. Through roundtables, trainings, and dialogue spaces this project aims to create opportunities where grassroots leaders, feminist voices, and those directly affected by climate change can meet with policymakers and experts. These conversations simplify complex EU climate debates and turn them into real, community-driven solutions.

The Climate Justice Knowledge Hub will feature:

  • Opening plenary on intersectional climate justice

  • Parallel partner-led workshops, including:

    • Policy roundtables on various topics

    • Collaborative solution-finding across movements

    • Solidarity circle addressing climate anxiety

  • Artivist and creative space featuring community contributions

  • Networking and coalition-building sessions

Are you wondering how to you can join us in Berlin? There are many ways.

You can join us as a participant, apply to lead a parallel session - or if you are a policy-maker, we have space for you on the panel discussion! (For policy-makers, please get in touch with angeline@newwomenconnectors.com).

ABOUT THE PROJECT

We have a commitment to climate justice and foregrounding the voices of those marginalized, but most impacted by climate change. Stemming from our work with “Leading Resilience: New Knowledges” and “CoFe Tables”, which both focused on foregrounding both female and global perspectives on the climate crisis, this project in collaboration with the Climate Action Network (CAN) aims to bridge the gap between climate policies and the lived experiences of marginalized communities. We will ensure that those most affected by climate change have a seat at the table in shaping a just and inclusive transition.

Until the end of 2026 as a part of this project, we aim to:

  • Simplify climate debates and make EU policies accessible

  • Elevate grassroots stories and lived experiences

  • Build skills in climate advocacy and digital activism

  • Foster cross-movement collaboration through hubs and dialogues

  • Ensure that those most affected by climate change are at the center of the solutions

Why is this important?

Climate change affects us all, but not equally. Communities already facing displacement, inequality, and exclusion are often hit the hardest, yet their voices are rarely heard in decision-making. Our project aims to change this.

Through roundtables, trainings, and dialogue spaces we create opportunities where grassroots leaders, feminist voices, and those directly affected by climate change can meet with policymakers and experts. These conversations simplify complex EU climate debates and turn them into real, community-driven solutions.

The project builds on our global dialogue series Leading Resilience: New Knowledges, where leaders from Bangladesh, Nigeria, Fiji, and beyond came together to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight for climate justice. Just as those sessions highlighted the power of resilience leadership, the COFE Tables and community dialogues bring that same spirit to Europe—linking global perspectives with local action.

By amplifying lived experiences, building advocacy skills, and fostering collaboration across movements, we’re shaping a just, inclusive, and resilient future where communities are not only heard but are leading the way forward.

'Together We Lead, Together We Nurture - Our Earth, Our Future Our Europe' consists of a Digital Awareness Campaign, CoFe Tables Talks, and commences in a Climate Justice Hub in 2026. We are also organizing online participatory workshops, advocacy action groups and policy roundtables.

Co-Fe Table Talks

Co-Fe Table Talks is all about engaging feminist leaders from climate-affected and displacement contexts,

combined with facilitated dialogues with climate experts to simplify and unpack complex topics. Because traditional climate-spaces have been exclusionary towards women and marginalized communities, it's crucial that we promote safe spaces, and focus on real representation. Foregrounding indigenous expertise, and the voices of those most affected by climate change.

CoFe Table Talks are held online, on Zoom.

Co-Fe table 1: the EU Green deal and its consequences (November 2025)
Unpacking the EU green deal simply, and taking a decolonial lens toward what it means for Europe and beyond. How can we as European-based civil society safeguard wins and navigate this changing landscape.

Co-Fe table 2: Just Transition (December 2025)
What does a green economy look like? Who does it leave behind and how can we grow sustainably together? Let’s unpack how marginalized groups have been systematically excluded from decision-making spaces and yet often bear the majority of the burden of climate change.

Co-Fe table 3: Women as Climate Pioneers (January 2026)
What is the unique role of women in creating a more ecologically sustainable future, and who has had an impact on this in the past? Looking at the practices and methods used by women to preserve and tend to their environments and those around them.

Climate Displacement :How do changing weather patterns and shifting economies relate to the so called “migration crisis”, and how are these patterns related to the longstanding exploitation of the global south? Looking at the relationship between global capitalism, the environment, and forced displacement.

Co-Fe table 4: Indigenous and/or Innovative Climate Care Methods (March 2026)
Looking at the entanglement with modern climate care methods and their indigenous roots. Unpacking how marginalized groups have been centers for innovation in climate and environmental care, with a focus on storytelling as a methodology to spread this message.

Co-Fe tables 5: TBD (June ‘26)

Digital Awareness Campaign

Our Digital Awareness campaign focuses on bringing selected topics crucial in the climate justice discussion - in a simplified manner. Not by climate 'experts', but by feminists, activists, community builders, storytellers, human rights defenders.

Our point is: you don't need to be an expert to understand climate change, and you certainly don't have to be an expert to demand climate justice. Through a series of videos on five selected topics, we aim to simplify complex debates, and lay the groundwork for a climate justice community that is accessible to all. Naturally, we discuss all topics through a lens of gender justice, racial justice and mobility justice. Next to the videos, we publish an infographic every month, that encompasses the most important information regarding the month's topic, as well as other social media content.
