Find us at the United Nations headquarters next week!

Our Founder and Managing Director, Anila Noor will be attending the Commission on the Status of Women’s 69th session. CSW69 is a significant gathering each year, connecting different representatives. The main focus of this year is the Beijing Platform for Action, which is considered one of the most progressive blueprints for advancing women’s rights.
The Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA) highlights twelve key areas of concern, all focused on women empowerment. These areas include poverty, education and training, health, violence against women, economy, decision-making and power, institutional mechanisms, human rights, media, the environment and lastly, the girl child. These twelve subjects of concern of the BPfA provide important topics to discuss, especially against the recent backdrop of funding and aid cuts specifically affecting non-profit, community organisations. Besides supporting all these themes, the areas of education and training of women, women in power and decision-making and women and the environment are directly relevant to our day-to-day work and activities.
New Women Connectors is excited for the opportunity to attend CSW69 and think, talk and mobilise with other civil society organisations. Anila will attend events, join feminist rallies and convene with like-minded organisations, and make sure that women with a migrant and refugee background have their voices represented.
